Another website to worry about

I have another website to work on, and this isn't exactly what I wanted to do this morning. I got an email about updating the symphony site for the next concert and I realized that I didn't have all the pages finished and up on the server yet, so this morning that's what I've been doing.

I took their previous site and made it css based and cleaned up all of the crappy FrontPage code that was in it. Their server files are a horrible mess too. This morning I deleted ever single file from the server and uploaded all of my new ones only. I saved the original files to a cd so at least we had them somewhere. I can't even describe how badly organized these files are. There are about 3 or 4 duplicates of the same image files in different folders, all of their old program pages were there and some of them were linked live to the site already (grrrr), and most of their images were buried down 3 or 4 different directories. A lot of the old page titles were reused, so even though it is now 2006, the page title for a page may have referred to a concert in 2004 or 2005. I guess I decided it was better for my sanity to just start over.

There's still some bad links on the site now, this is only because I haven't finished all of the pages. Now it's just a matter of cutting, pasting, and editing the text for each page. I think I'll go back and change the live site so the bad links aren't linked for the time being. I hope to have this all done before the weekend and then I won't have to worry about it anymore.
