Books category

The purpose of this post is only to test out a format I'm working on for my category pages. One thing I've generally disliked about my blog in the past is that I add all of these little tools, javascripts, and rss feed related things to my sidebar that it usually just looks like a cluttered mess. I've decided to save my front page for the links and tools I really want on there the most and move some of the extra stuff to the pages relating most to their category. I just finished up the book one and if you click on the books category link you'll see the stuff I added there.

I added code that links to my reading list that I keep on AllConsuming. I've also added a few book specific links. I will keep developing the category pages as well as my main page as I can though.

I wasn't really sure if I'd be able to accomplish this but I found some MT plugins and figured out how to install them tonight. I'm starting to get the hang of using MovableType now, I actually figured out an easier way to do sidebars in the process so now I don't have to add Dreamweaver code to my site.

At least your new blog is working out great for you:) If only I could be so lucky *sigh* :)

Don't worry you'll figure it out! It took me a long time to get it right last night, I couldn't figure out how to install plugins. I think I even installed a plugin that doesn't work which was also frustrating.

Ohh, so you had a plugin experience similar to my exporting plugin. Fun huh?! *bein sarcastic of course*

Of course! I kept thinking about your darn exporting plugin as I was working on it :) I finally discovered that I was trying to import them to the wrong directory. They're so vague about where to import things, like directories and MovableType are assumed knowledge or something...sheesh!

I keep thinking that I should use this creative energy to start working on our web page project :)
