Geocaching: "Kristen's Krazy Kids' Kache"

I know I haven't posted in a long time, of course things are crazy busy anymore. I did want to finally post about geocaching though. Alex and I are addicted!

We went to homecoming a few weeks ago and Josh and Stacie got us hooked by taking us out with them. We bought our GPS unit the week after and we've been geocaching every weekend since then. This is the first time we actually feel like we're doing something constructive on the weekend (aka, not sitting around on our butts).

We both love it and we're both motivated to stick with it (we have to we splurged a lot on our GPS unit), and we also think this is probably the only way we'll get exercise otherwise.

We are pretty committed to geocaching through the winter, we'll see just how long that lasts though :) At least we're making the most of what little decent weather we have left. I have to admit, though, that when we're out there I hardly care how cold it is, I'm so committed to getting the next cache.

I just logged into my "Writely" account. Yes, I know that Google bought Writely and they did that whole merging thing with Google spreadsheets and now it's all Google Docs and stuff...but gosh darnit Google, why in the world did you get rid of the Writely interface?! All my stuff is there, and it was smart enough to figure out that by me being logged in to gmail and all that it was the same account (duh my email addresses were the same), but when I opened the page to my account, everything was Google green and blue!

<rant>I love Google but I'm absolutely sick and tired of the same crappy Google interface!!!</rant>

Now that this is out of my system...

My husband commented that I have a very "Google browser". I generally have Gmail open, took the plunge to using Google Reader (which I hadn't blogged about yet, but I should've switched sooner), and now that Google gobbled up Writely, it seems that I cannot escape that same boring web interface in those same boring colors. Oh yeah, and I'm also using Google Calendar. In order to manage all of my "Googliness" I have decided to condense all of that down to one "Google Personalized Homepage". If I could integrate my Google Calendar correctly into Netvibes I would totally do it because usually I have both open which seems a bit pointless given they both serve the same purpose.

So Google, if you're listening, could you maybe start offering your users some templates? I don't know how much longer I can put up the same interface for every single web page I visit. I'm bored and uninspired.

I know I haven't posted anything in awhile but I'm quite excited so this is certainly blog worthy. I got the title in the mail today for my car! I officially own it and I have no more car payments. This is a great feeling and is the second time I experienced it in my life. That last time I bought a new(er) car though...I'm trying not to think about it right now though. For this moment in time, all I'm thinking is that I have no more car payments...and until that car dies completely, it is a wonderful feeling to know that at least it's mine.

Schmap Guides are free city guides that you can download to your computer. They're kinda cool. They contacted me to include three of my Cleveland pictures awhile back and again today to let me know that the Cleveland guide is ready. They have some other cities too, it's kinda neat to check out.
