- I believe the world should be user friendly
I am a recent graduate of information studies from the School of Library and Information science at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan (still trying to work out what all that means).
I've worked in the field of information science continuously for eleven years and I'm interested in making it easier for people to find information in digital environments. My experience includes archives, libraries, and information architecture. My journey through the world of information has taught me that I thrive more in the digital environments than I do the physical repositories, though I still have an appreciation for the traditional methods of librarianship.
I have a personal fascination with how information moves through social networks. That also means I have a lot of presences online. I don't mind this, it's all a part of the journey to understanding how these tools can help us as we move into the future of communicating with one another. A lot of what information scientists like to do is understand how we can use these tools to manage our time and to control the overload. I'm also interested in how online environments can bring people together in the physical world.
I am a classically trained musician (at least I was in a past life) and I still enjoy attending concerts and recitals in my spare time. I have my Bachelor of Arts in Music from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
My location shifts around, the best way to know where I'm at is to check my Twitter profile, or one of the many other social networks designed to give us more information than we ever wanted to know about a person.
