National Archives Research (Kew)

I will visit The National Archives at Kew on your behalf to research specific records that are not available online. This service includes one hour of on-site research time plus my travel costs to and from the archives. Perfect for accessing original documents, military records, or other materials that require in-person consultation.

Additional research time can be added for £30 per hour if required. The National Archives does not charge a fee for photographs or copies. However, if you require a service that incurs an additional charge at the archive, or if your documents need to be posted, this may result in additional fees. There is no charge for photographs or copies taken or provided by me.
Central London Archives Research
£60
I will visit archives or locations in central London (such as London Metropolitan Archives, City of London Archives, Guildhall Library, the British Library, or the Society of Genealogists) to research records on your behalf. This service includes one hour of on-site research time plus my travel costs to central London. Ideal for London-specific parish records, trade directories, or local authority documents.

Additional research time can be added at £30 per hour. An archive, library, or location is considered eligible if it is situated inside Zone 1. If the archive or location you are interested in is not listed or you are unsure, please don't hesitate to contact me to determine if additional travel costs need to be considered. Please be aware that some archives may require photography, entry, or copying fees, which will be quoted separately. These will be communicated and estimated before the start of a project and are not included in the flat fee.
Local research outside of London
£30 per hour
For archives and record offices outside of London, I charge my standard hourly rate plus travel expenses. Please don't hesitate to contact me for a custom quote tailored to your specific research needs and location.
Document searches in the United States
Custom pricing
Whether you're located in the US or the UK, I can help you navigate the various methods of searching for documents by state. Be aware that, due to privacy restrictions in many states, some documents may be inaccessible unless accessed by a member of the immediate family. However, some states may have restrictions on document searches that include releasing them to genealogists. I can help you determine the level of access and the best method of obtaining a record, if possible. If ordering a document search is difficult to get by post, then I can also facilitate searches using local genealogists.

Due to the different charges and methods of searching offered by individual states, US document searching is quoted on a case-by-case basis.
If you've never worked with me before, I may require a base research charge to create a basic profile of your ancestor before starting any document searching request.
All charges will be quoted and agreed upon before commencing a document search. This will include the cost of shipping and any associated charges from ordering the search.
All document search fees are non-refundable and are charged whether a document is located or not.
Ancestry tree clean
£20 per hour (2-hour minimum: £40)
I'll review and clean up your Ancestry family tree, correcting errors, removing duplicates, and ensuring all information is properly sourced.

This service does not include: written narrative reports, documents, or original images from Ancestry records. Please note that you may only view these records yourself if you are on a suitable Ancestry plan.

Do you have a specific research question, need help with a tricky problem, or would like somebody to collaborate with on your family research? For example, suppose you're visiting London from the US and would like help locating places related to your family history. In that case, I can offer simple advice sessions remotely, face-to-face, or on a month-to-month basis, depending on your needs.
